Self-defense consists of a number of ready to perform moves. But the areas which you target with your moves could have a huge impact on the opponent. You should not treat it like Blackjack where you can hope for the best. These are dangerous situations, and you need to have a full-proof plan to defend yourself. So let’s take a look at some of the most effective areas you can attack:
Eyes: They are very sensitive. Your attacker won’t be able to see anything either. Gouge, poke or scratch them with your fingers or knuckles. This will leave them in pain and give you a chance to get away.
Nose: This is another good place to begin an attack if your attacker is close enough. You can use your palm to attack under your nose throwing weight into the move to cause more pain. The nose is also an effective target when the attacker is behind you since you can use your elbow. Aim for the nose bones with maximum force.
Knees: They are great for self-defense since you will be able to incapacitate your attacker partially. The knees will be vulnerable from most angles, and you can kick them easily without worrying about the attacker grabbing your feet. Kicking the knees in the front causes the most damage, but it isn’t effective if you are trying to imbalance an attacker.
Neck: The side of the neck is a good target too since it is where the carotid artery and the jugular vein are located. The knife hand strike can prove to be quite effective when it comes to stunning your attacker temporarily, and this will be more than enough to give you the advantage in a fight. That’s what you want, right? You must also practice every single day to stay in shape.
